Recipient Accountability

Following the approval of a grant application, a grant agreement must be signed before the payment can be made. Understand the following expectations of grant recipients before and after applying.

Use of Funds

Dan & Patti Rashke (TASC) Family Foundation grant funds must be spent only for charitable purposes. A grant is made solely and exclusively for the original stated purpose and it is agreed that the grant funds will be used only for those purposes and none other. If for any reason the grant is used for other than the stated charitable purposes without prior permission, the Foundation reserves the right to cancel any future grant payouts. Additionally, under no circumstances should the recipient use grant funds to influence the outcome of any election for public office, to facilitate voter registration drives, or to influence local, state or federal legislation. No changes in the budget or the grant period may be made without prior written approval from the Foundation.

Reporting

The Foundation appreciates receiving updates on the progress that their investments have made into our community. Reporting requirements will commensurate with the type and amount of grant awarded and be discussed as part of the grant agreement. The Foundation may also monitor grants by telephone, correspondence and/or site visits.

 Publicity

The Foundation does not actively seek publicity for its grant awards, but is open to public recognition from the recipient organization. The Foundation requests the opportunity to review and comment on any materials prior to release. Coordination is to be made with the Community Investment Administrator.

Tax-exempt Status

The recipient is responsible for maintaining its tax-exempt status as a public charity throughout the grant period. Should the recipient’s tax-exempt status change or be challenged by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the recipient must notify the Foundation within 14 calendar days of such change in status and/or classification. The Dan & Patti Rashke (TASC) Family Foundation reserves its right to terminate the grant under such circumstances and all unspent funds must be returned to the Foundation.

Return of Unused Funds

Any grant funds that are not spent or committed for the purposes of the grant must be returned to the Foundation.
